The Psychotic Episodes... are here!

Welcome. I'm Cassanda. Soon you'll be meeting my friends Henry, Wojo, and Chester – just stay tuned to the comics, where Wojo tells our stories.

That's right, we're just a bunch of comic characters. But that doesn't mean we're making this up. If you care about mental health, and you don't quite believe that psychiatry and the drug industry have your mental health as their top concern, then stick around. Join in. At least put in your email so we can alert you when a new comic is launched!

Or hit the forums. There you might run into Dick Daniels. He's the forum moderator. He's fictional too, but don't be fooled. He carries a big stick, so be nice in there.

every episode has a theme and this is the current theme ...
KILLER
MEDS

As I anxiously wait for my press pass - hoping to have a first hand look at ‘killer meds’ in Afghanistan - I’m going to post some stories in my blog. Have a look, show an interest, ask a question, take some action…

more on this theme ...

* Prescription drug cocktails have lead to at least 32 accidental overdoses among Marines and soldiers since 2007, bringing military medical practices for treating physical and psychiatric problems under scrutiny. (Air Force Times - June 6, 2010)
* A survey released in March of 2008 suggested that about 20,000 troops in Afghanistan and Iraq were on psychiatric drugs.
* In 2007, the FDA expanded a 2004 “black box” warning that SSRI antidepressants may increase suicide to include adults aged 18 to 24, and now the rate of suicides in the Army is more than double the service’s 2001 rate.
